America’s Got Talent

America's Got TalentImage via Wikipedia

For the past several weeks, I have spent several hours on Tuesday and Wednesday nights watching this TV show. Its American Idol on crack…. seriously! I have never been a fan of Idol, though I adore music. America’s Got Talent has music and so much more.

Any type of act is accepted into the auditions. Those shows were wickedly entertaining at times for the shear “I can’t believe they think that is talent” factor. Then there are the surprisingly entertaining acts, such as the married couple that has a juggling chain saws act. Not all that original, but they add there own spice to it.

The judges for this competition are Sharon Osborne, David Hasselhoff, and Piers Morgan. They provide some very colorful commentary at times. The constructive criticism is good as well. In the semifinal show tonight, the two most given of these criticisms were to either add variety or to pull the act into something more cohesive and less confusing.

paradizo_dance Tonight’s show included several musicians, a flip act, and several dancers. I have my favorites but forgot to get the numbers to call. One of the stand outs tonight was a dance team called Paradizo Dance. They are newlyweds and so cute together. Tonight they danced to a song by Beyonce called Halo. Very beautiful song and a beautiful dance from the pair. I was in tears…. the song sort of has meaning for me, plus you can see how in love this couple is when they look at each other. Very moving moment.

voices_of_glory A great musical act was the Voices of Glory. This is a trio of two brothers and a sister. The girl is the youngest at 9 years of age. She has a wonderful singing voice, as they all do. The oldest boy is so very well spoken when interviewed on the show that it amazes me sometimes. Well spoken humans are few and far between.

texas_tenors A second musical act that I would like to see go through is the Texas Tenors. This is another trio of three friends. These gentlemen are not only easy on the eyes, they actually have some musical talent. As with most of the musical acts on shows like these, they could use a tad bit of polishing. It doesn’t detract from the entertainment value one bit though! I am hoping if they do make it, they take the Hoff’s advice and go for a ballad next round.

Be sure to visit the link in the first paragraph for the America's Got Talent site. You can watch entire shows and so much more there. Tonight's show has more highlights that the three I tagged here!
